Medications have been discovered that slow down the HIV virus, but neither a cure or a vaccine for HIV has been discovered that worked.
2013 – Confirmation is published that a toddler has been “functionally cured” of HIV infection. However, in 2014, it was announced that the child had relapsed and that the virus had re-appeared
A New York Times Article says that 12 people of 75 who began combination antiretroviral therapy soon after becoming infected may have been “functionally cured” of HIV according to a French study. A functionally cured person will not experience an increase of the virus in the bloodstream despite stopping antiretroviral therapy, and therefore not progress to AIDS.
I do not intend to recite the history of the deadly Ebola virus because the Media will continue to repeat it over and over. But I am concerned about the number of those who don’t realize Seals 2 through 5 are now intensifying and the number of believer martyr’s souls are increasing round God’s throne, so if you are just concerned about Ebola, I assure you that after — leaves office all of the “bugs” are going to activate when Seal 6 opens because epidemics during a Middle East War will be great because of a lack of medications and doctors to treat those who not fighting in the Old World.

Emerging Infectious Diseases

Infectious diseases are illnesses caused by the presence and activity of one or more pathogenic agents including viruses, bacteria, fungi, protozoa, multicellular parasites and abnormal proteins called prions. They are transmitted through a variety of means including direct or indirect contact; ingestion (in water or food); transmission of body fluids; inhalation of airborne particles and droplets; transmission by vectors such as mosquitoes, fleas, and ticks; and others.
What are Emerging infectious diseases (EID)?
Those that have newly appeared or have existed in the past but are now rapidly increasing in frequency, geographic range, or both.
Some Examples
Different infectious diseases could be considered “emerging” or “re-emerging” depending upon one’s definition of the terms. The World Health Organization and the U.S. Centers for Disease Control have described over 100 infectious diseases affecting humans and animals as recently increasing or threatening to increase in geographic range, epidemic activity, and/or severity. Some, like blue tongue and visceral stomatitis affect mainly animals, but others are of concern to human health. The most common of these are listed in Table 1 and are briefly described below.
AIDS (acquired immune deficiency syndrome) is a suite of conditions that result from infection with the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV). HIV attacks the immune system and compromises its ability to fight infections and certain cancers. The term “AIDS” is usually applied to the advanced stages of HIV infection. HIV is spread by the exchange of body fluids such as semen and blood. It can also be transmitted through organ transplants and from mother to fetus. Although at present time there is no cure for HIV infection, scientists have developed drugs that can help fight both HIV and the related infections and cancers. Survival rates have increased due to advances in drug therapy, and progression of HIV disease has decreased in developed countries where antiretroviral drugs are available.
Anthrax is mainly a disease of herbivorous animals such as sheep, horses, and cattle. In humans, the disease usually occurs only in people who work with these animals or their products. The causative agent, the bacterium Bacillus anthracis, can cause three different kinds of disease: cutaneous anthrax, intestinal anthrax, and pulmonary anthrax. All three types can be fatal. Cutaneous anthrax is characterized by skin ulcerations with black necrotic areas and swelling of the lymph glands. Inhalation anthrax causes severe breathing problems and shock and is usually fatal. Intestinal anthrax causes nausea, vomiting and fever, followed by vomiting blood and severe diarrhea.
Antimicrobial and insecticide resistance – Widespread use of antimicrobials has spurred evolutionary adaptations that enable bacteria and other microbes such as viruses, fungi, and parasites to survive these powerful drugs. Antibiotic resistance can cause significant danger and suffering for people who have common infections that once were easily treatable with antibiotics. Tuberculosis, staph. infections, gonorrhea, malaria, and childhood ear infections are just a few of the diseases that have become hard to treat with antibiotic drugs. In an analogous fashion, many insects that transmit pathogens that cause diseases are becoming resistant to the insecticides used to control them which sometimes results in control failures and compromises the ability to use vector control as a disease prevention mechanism.
Botulism is caused by several nerve toxins produced by the bacterium Clostridium botulinum. It can cause paralysis and death. Foodborne botulism is caused by eating foods that contain botulism toxins; Infant botulism results from consuming spores of the bacteria which then grow in the intestines and produce the toxins; Wound botulism is caused by toxins produced in wounds infected with the botulism bacteria. Symptoms of botulism include double and/or blurred vision, drooping eyelids, slurred speech, difficulty swallowing, dry mouth, and muscle weakness. If untreated, these symptoms may progress to cause paralysis of the arms, legs, trunk and respiratory muscles and can result in death due to respiratory failure. A purified form of one of the toxins released by C. botulinum (Botulinum toxin Type A) forms the basis of the anti-wrinkling product Botox®. This product is used in tiny amounts to relax the action of some facial muscles that cause wrinkles in the forehead, around the eyes, and frown lines between the eyebrows.
Campylobacteriosis –This disease is caused by bacteria of the genus Campylobacter. These organisms are transmitted via the oral route and are normally found in wild birds, poultry, pigs, cattle, domesticated animals, unpasteurized milk and contaminated water. Symptoms of the disease are flu-like, but some individuals may develop nerve disorders such as Guillain-Barré syndrome and respiratory complications. Of these, about 5-10% may die, and 15-20% may experience permanent nerve damage.
Chagas disease, is a potentially fatal, chronic disease that currently affects twelve million people throughout Mexico, Central and South America. The disease is caused by a protozoan parasite, Trypanosoma cruzi. This parasite is transmitted to humans and animals by triatomine bugs, commonly referred to as “kissing bugs” (Figure 1). T. cruzi is not transmitted to humans directly by the bite of the infected insect. Triatomine bugs defecate while blood-feeding. If the insect is infected with the parasite, the latter can enter the bloodstream when the host scratches the irritated bite wound. Acute infections can be fatal, but most humans survive acute infection. Chronic infection of the cardiac muscle will eventually result in cardiac failure and death of the host. Symptoms of acute infection include swelling of the eye and surrounding area; fever; skin rash; and enlarged lymph nodes, liver, and/or spleen. Among the symptoms of chronic infection are heart palpitations, dizziness. chest pain, fainting, and cardiac failure.
Chikungunya is a virus that can be transmitted to humans by mosquitoes. The virus (CHIKV) is related to other alphaviruses like Ross River, Sindbis, and Venezuelan equine encephalitis viruses. Symptoms include fever, chills, headache, rash and severe joint pain with or without swelling. Chikungunya outbreaks with 100′s of thousands of cases were reported from Africa and Southeast Asia in 2005-2006.
Cholera is an acute diarrheal disease caused by the bacterium Vibrio cholerae. It is acquired by eating contaminated food or drinking contaminated water. It has a worldwide distribution and outbreaks can occur in any part of the world where water supplies, sanitation, food safety, and hygiene are inadequate. The primary symptom of cholera is massive diarrhea, but symptoms may also include muscle and stomach cramps, vomiting and fever in early stages. Treatment consists of rehydration and electrolyte replacement. Treatment with antibiotics may reduce duration and symptoms, but antibiotic resistance is common.
Prion disease, Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease – A prion is a proteinaceous transmissible agent that causes abnormal folding of certain brain proteins resulting in brain damage and death. General symptoms of prion disease include loss of motor control, dementia, paralysis, wasting, and eventually death. Prions are thought to be responsible for scrapie, mad cow disease, and chronic wasting disease of animals, and Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease (CJD) in humans (but see below). CJD is an incurable neurodegenerative disorder that usually leads to death within one year. CJD is believed to occur by transformation of the normal prion proteins into abnormal prions. Much less frequently, CJD can occur because of inherited mutations of the prion protein gene. These inherited forms can give rise to Gerstmann-Straussler-Scheinker syndrome and fatal familial insomnia. Although bovine spongiform encelopathy (mad cow disease) and CJD are not directly related, a variant of CJD, vCJD appears to be caused by the same agent as mad cow. vCJD has different genetic profile and different clinical and pathological characteristics than CJD. Recent research suggests that the abnormal protein itself may not be infectious, but is a pathological result of an infectious virus binding to this host protein.
1. Dengue is a human disease caused by a virus (DENV) transmitted by mosquitoes (Figure 2). Dengue occurs in many tropical and subtropical regions of the world, predominantly in urban-suburban areas. It is the most important arboviral disease of humans, affecting 50-100 million persons annually. Symptoms of dengue include high fever, severe headache, pain behind the eyes, severe joint and muscle pain (hence the name “break-bone fever”, often used to describe the disease) , nausea, vomiting, and skin rash. Dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF) is a potentially fatal complication characterized by high fever, damage to lymph and blood vessels, bleeding from the nose, gums, and from under the skin, enlargement of the liver, and circulatory failure. The symptoms may progress to massive bleeding, shock and death (dengue shock syndrome). DHF symptoms usually manifest themselves 6-10 days after infection.
2. Escherichia coli is a bacterium normally found in the digestive tract of humans and animals. Some strains of the bacterium (in particular strain O157:H7), however, are extremely toxic and cause severe damage to the intestinal tract lining of those infected. These bacteria are primarily tramsmitted through fecal contamination. Symptoms of infection include watery and/or bloody diarrhea, fever, nausea, severe abdominal cramping, and vomiting. Treatment includes rehydration and adminitration of antidiarrheal agents. There is no evidence that antibiotics improve the course of the disease.
3. The flu is a contagious respiratory disease caused by the influenza virus. Symptoms can be mild to severe and can sometimes be fatal. Complications of flu can include bacterial pneumonia, ear infections, sinus infections, dehydration, and worsening of chronic medical conditions, such as congestive heart failure, asthma, or diabetes. The virus is spread by inhalation of virus particles disseminated by coughing or sneezing of infected persons. The virus can also be acquired by touching infected surfaces and then bringing the infected part of the body (such as the hand or arm) near the mouth or nose. Yearly flu vaccines are available and recommended for those at risk of complications such as the elderly and people with compromised immune systems.
4. Hanta viruses are carried primarily by rodents and can infect humans who breathe contaminated dust after disturbing or cleaning rodent droppings or nests, or who live or work in rodent-infested settings. The major diseases caused by Hanta viruses are hantavirus pulmonary syndrome (HPS) and hemorrhagic fever with renal syndrome (HFRS). Regions especially affected by HFRS include China, the Korean peninsula, and northern and western Europe. Regions with the highest incidences of HPS include Argentina, Chile, Brazil, the United States, Canada and Panama. Symptoms of HPS include fatigue, fever, and muscle aches followed by coughing and shortness of breath as the lungs fill with fluid. Symptoms of HFRS inlcude fever, fatigue and muscle pain headache, dizziness, vomit, nausea or diarrhea followed by hemorrhaging and serious kidney failure.
5. Lassa fever is an acute viral illness that has been reported from West Africa. While Lassa fever is asymptomatic or causes only mild symptoms in about 80% of people infected, the remaining 20% have a severe multisystem disease. Lassa fever is also associated with occasional epidemics, during which the case-fatality rate can reach 50%. The virus is carried by rodents, and humans can become contaminated by exposure to rodent feces or urine, or by inhalation of particles contaminated by rodent excretions. Principal sysmptoms of the disease include fever, pain behind the chest wall, sore throat, back pain, cough, abdominal pain, vomiting, diarrhea, conjunctivitis, facial swelling, protein in the urine, and mucosal bleeding. Neurological problems have also been described.
6. Leishmaniasis is a disease caused by parasitic protozoans of the genus Leishmania that are transmitted to humans by sandflies of the subfamily Phlebotominae. The disease can attack the skin, mucous membranes, liver, spleen and bone marrow. Over 20 different Leishmania species can infect humans and cause a wide spectrum of symptoms that range from self-healing skin ulcers to severe life-threatening disease. Leishmaniasis occurs in Mexico, Central America, and South America (except Uruguay and Chile), southern Europe, Asia, the Middle East, and Africa, particularly east and north Africa. In the United States, rare cases of the cutaneous form of the disease have been reported from southern Texas, but no cases of visceral leishmaniasis are known to have been acquired in the U.S. An enzootic (present in animals) transmission cycle involving Leishmania mexicana in Texas has been described, indicating that cutaneous leishmaniasis may be more common than previously thought. In 2000, public health authorities in the United States, discovered that hunting dogs in 21 U.S. states and the Canadian province of Ontario were infected with Leishmania infantum, a species that can cause visceral leishmaniasis. The infection appears to be widespread in foxhounds, but so far transmission appears to be limited to dog-to-dog mechanisms. However, if the local form of L. infantum becomes adapted for transmission by indigenous sandflies, the chances of human infection will be greatly increased.
7. Lyme disease is caused by the bacterium Borrelia burgdorferi which is transmitted between mammals by the black-legged tick, Ixodes scapularis. The most common early indication of Lyme disease in humans is a rash, followed by fever, flu-like symptoms, chills, headache and fatigue. Later symptoms may include joint pain, headache, facial paralysis, myocarditis (inflammation of the heart muscle), and heart block. Most cases of Lyme disease can be successfully treated with antibiotics.
8. Malaria in humans is a disease caused by any one of four species of microscopic protozoan parasites in the genus Plasmodium and transmitted by mosquitoes in the genus Anopheles. Symptoms vary widely depending upon the individual’s overall health and the species of parasite. In general symptoms of malaria include exhaustion, headache, anorexia, nausea and vomiting, and high fever. As recently as 1935, malaria caused 4,000 deaths every year in the United States, but its incidence was reduced to almost 0 by the 1950s. Recently, the frequency of malaria reports from U.S locations has increased and includes cases of locally acquired disease in Florida.
9. The O’nyong’nyong virus (ONNV) is closely related Chikungunya virus and is primarily transmitted by anopheline mosquitoes in Africa. Symptoms of infection include inflammation of the joints, rash, fever, chest pain, and lethargy.
10. Oropouche fever is a viral infection transmitted by biting midges of the genus Culicoides and mosquitoes. It occurs in the Amazonian region of South America, the Caribbean, and Central America. Symptoms include chills, headache, anorexia, muscle and joint pain and vomiting, and sometimes inflammation of the tissues surrounding the central nervous system (meningitis). Large epidemics are common, but patients usually recover fully.
11. Plague is caused by the bacterium Yersinia pestis. The bacterium is usually transmitted to humans through the bite of rodent fleas or by handling infected animals. Plague outbreaks still occur in certain regions of the world. In the United States plague presently occurs as scattered cases in rural areas (an average of 10 to 15 persons each year). Symptoms of the disease include fever, headache, and painfully swollen lymph nodes (buboes). If not treated with antibiotics, the bacteria can invade the bloodstream and produce potentially fatal septicemia and lung infection (plague pneumonia). The bacterium can also be spread by coughing or sneezing of plague pneumonia patients.
12. Rift Valley Fever – This is predominantly an animal disease that can sometimes infect humans and lead to high morbidity and mortality. It is caused by a virus (RVF) of the family Bunyaviridae that is transmitted by Culex mosquitoes. Symptoms may include fever, headache, muscle pain, backache, sensitivity to light and vomiting. A small proportion of patients (0.5-2%) may develop more severe symptoms including eye disease, inflammation of the brain and surrounding tissues or haemorrhagic fever. Fatalities are usually associated with those patients that develop haemorrhagic fever. The disease is particularly prevalent in Africa and the Arabian Peninsula, where it can cause substantial losses in domestic livestock and 1000′s of human cases.
13. SARS – Severe acute respiratory syndrome is a disease caused by infection with a new coronavirus (SARS Co-V). It is spread is by close person-to-person contact, particularly by respiratory droplets or when a person touches a surface or object contaminated with infectious droplets and then touches his or her mouth, nose, or eye(s). It is also possible that the SARS virus might spread more broadly through the air (airborne spread) or by other ways that are not now known. There has been one major epidemic to date, between November 2002 and July 2003, with 8,096 known cases of the disease, and 774 death, mostly in China (including Mongolia and Hong Kong), Taiwan, Singapore, Vietnam and the Phillipines. An outbreak in Canada (251 cases, 43 deaths), and 27 cases in the United States (eight confirmed), were all associated with travel to epidemic areas. Currently, no specific treatment exists for SARS, although various treatments have been tried with unclear success.
14. Salmonellosis – Salmonella are bacteria that are widespread in the environment and can cause diarrheal illness in people. A small percentage of cases can develop a suite of debilitating long-term symptoms known as Reiter’s Syndrome that include joint pain, swelling and irritation of the eyes, and sometimes painful urination. Good personal hygiene and sanitary food product preparation, handling, and storage can go a long way towards preventing the disease. Treatment includes replacement of fluids and electrolytes and antibiotics in patients with serious infections.
15. Shigellosis is a bacterial disease characterized by sudden and severe diarrhea (gastroenteritis or bacillary dysentery). Shigella thrives in the human intestine and is commonly spread through both food and person-to-person contact. Some persons who are infected may show no symptoms at all, but may still pass the Shigella organism to others. As in salmonellosis, Reiter’s Syndrome may occur in a small percentage of the cases. Treatment consists principally in keeping up nutrition and avoiding dehydration. Antibiotics may not be necessary, except for the more severe infections.
16. Sindbis – This virus (SINV) is very widespread and occurs in most continents. It produces fevers, headaches, general weakness, rash and joint pain. It is transmitted primarily by Culex mosquitoes. Symptoms of infection include joint pain, fatigue, nausea, muscle pain, headache, low fever, and itchy rash throughout the body
17. Staphylococcal Infection – Staph. infections are caused by Staphylococcus bacteria and are usually associated with poor personal hygiene and poor food handling and preparation. Staph. infections can spread through the air, on contaminated surfaces, and from person to person. Staphylococci can cause many types of infections, for example, Staphylococcus aureus can infect wounds, it can cause food poisoning by releasing toxins into poorly handled food, and toxic shock syndrome by releasing superantigens into the blood stream. Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) has recently become a major cause of hospital-acquired infections and S. saprophyticus has been implicated in genitourinary infections in women. Although most staphylococci are resistant to penicillin, other antibiotics work well against the infection.
18. Streptococcal Infection – Streptococcal (strep.) infections are caused by group A Streptococcus and can range from a mild skin infection or sore throat to severe, life-threatening conditions. Diseases associated with strep. infections include strep. throat, impetigo, cellulitis, erysipelas (St. Anthony’s fire), scarlet fever, toxic shock syndrome, necrotizing fasciitis (flesh eating disease), and others. Treatment consists primarily of antibiotic and supportive therapy. Transmission is usually by contact with saliva or nasal discharge of infected persons, but there have been reports of transmission through contaminated foods.
19. Tuberculosis is primarily a respiratory disease that is spread by coughing and sneezing. It is caused by bacteria in the genus Mycobacterium, principally M. tuberculosis, that attack mainly the lungs, but can attack almost any part of the body. Symptoms include persistent cough, weight loss, loss of appetite, fever, night sweats and coughing up blood. Most people who become infected do not develop TB disease because their body’s defenses protect them. TB is an increasing and major world wide problem, especially in Africa where the spread has been facilitated by AIDS. Treatment consists of antibiotics, and there is a vaccine that is effective for children, but not for adults.
20. Tularemia (rabbit fever) is caused by the highly infective bacterium Francisella tularensis and is typically found in animals, especially rodents, rabbits, and hares. Tularemia has been reported from all U.S. states except Hawaii. Symptoms include skin ulcers, swollen lymph glands, inflamed eyes, sore throat, mouth sores, diarrhea, and pneumonia. If the bacteria are inhaled, symptoms can include abrupt onset of fever, chills, headache, muscle aches, joint pain, dry cough, and progressive weakness.The disease can be transmitted to humans by infected ticks, by handling an infected animals, by ingestion of infected water, soil, or food, or by inhalation. Tularemia is not spread directly from person to person.
21. West Nile virus (WNV) is carried by mosquitoes and if transmitted to humans, it can cause severe encephalitis. Symptoms of infection include headache, high fever, neck stiffness, disorientation, coma, convulsions, muscle weakness and paralysis. Most humans, however, do not develop clinical symptoms after infection. WNV was first isolated in 1937, from a woman in the West Nile province of Uganda in Central Africa. Epidemics of West Nile have occurred in Israel, France, South Africa, and Romania. West Nile virus was first documented in the United States in New York City during an epidemic in August 1999 and has since spread throughout the country resulting in ca. 25,000 human cases. A vaccine is available for horses, but not for humans.
Causes of Emergence/Re-emergence
The causes or emergence or re-emergence are many and vary widely between diseases, and even for the same disease in different geographic areas. Among the most common reasons for disease emergence and re-emergence are:
Continued global population growth and rapid urbanization often results in overcrowded and unsanitary conditions for city dwellers (Figure 3). Lack of clean water and overall hygene result in fertile breeding grounds for infectious diseases and their vectors, and crowded conditions raise the risk of respiratory diseases and those transmitted through direct contact.
A large proportion of the recent and future population growth is/will be in tropical and sub-tropical developing regions. Human encroachment on tropical forests brings populations with little or no resistance to disease in contact with disease organisms or their vectors and greatly increase the potential for outbreaks of disease.
Many developing areas are still going through economic and social crisis which weaken the health systems in some areas, often to the point of collapse, and prevents others from even developing minimal public health infrastructures. This allows diseases that were once under control and/or should be controllable to flourish due to inadequate resources. Sometimes the disease load itself is a big contributor to the social/economic crisis in certain countries; for example in many African nations, malaria is a major obstacle to social and economic development.
Environmental change. Many factors influence the burden of infectious disease, and environmental factors change the distribution and impact of infections through many mechanisms (Wilson 2000). For example, deforestation, with fragmentation of habitat, increases the edge effect, which then promotes pathogen–vector– host interactions; or some infectious diseases may emerge or re-emerge as a result of a pathogen invading a niche newly created or recently vacated as a result of environmental change. Among the human-induced environmental changes that affect infectious disease risk are: deforestation, road construction, irrigation, dam building, intensified crop and animal production systems, urban sprawl, poor sanitation, and pollution. See Wilson (2000) for a review of the topic and some specific examples.
Migration, and the movement and encampment of millions of people displaced by wars, civil instability, or natural disasters create conditions extremely favorable for infectious disease epidemics, (e.g., crowding, unsanitary conditions, malnutrition, exposure to new diseases, and others). Furthermore, mass movements of people are extremely effective in carrying diseases to new areas.
Increased international travel, commerce, and tourism provide efficient transport for disease-causing organisms and/or their vectors. They also greatly increase the exposure of people to “new” diseases for which they have little or no resistance.
Changes in the global commerce of livestock and foodstufs, including marketing, shipping, and storage increases opportunities for infectious disease outbreaks.
Changes in human sexual behavior have greatly increased the prevalence of sexually transmitted diseases (STDs). In some cases, other infectious diseases can increase susceptibility to, or severity of STDs such as AIDS, and vice-versa.
The indiscriminate use of pesticides and antimicrobials have given rise to widespread resistance in the target organisms thus making it more difficult to control diseases and/or their vectors. The problem is becoming so serious that some (e.g. the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases of the National Institutes of Health) consider antimicrobial resistance itself as an EID.
New strains of old diseases with different immunological characteristics, increased virulence, and different responses to antibiotics are often responsible for new outbreaks of disease. Microbes may suddenly emerge as disease threats by acquiring new capacities for initiating infections and disease or by altering the human host’s natural ability to mount an effective immune response. Examples include influenza, cholera, mad cow, tuberculosis, and others.
Immunosuppressed hosts: An increase in people with suppressed immune systems increases the risk of infection with other diseases, including EIDs. Links between frequency and severity of infectious diseases and immunosuppression (for example due to HIV infection or as part of cancer treatment or organ transplant therapy) have been established for many EIDs.Are We at Risk?
Some EID such as AIDS, antibiotic resistant bacteria, tuberculosis, and others are already important in Florida and the United States. Others, such as dengue and dengue hemorrhagic fever, pose a credible threat to certain areas of the continental United States such as Florida and Texas, and have had outbreaks in Hawaii and Puerto Rico. Another group of EIDs may present a hazard only to travelers visiting or working in foreign locations where these diseases are endemic. Finally, the use of disease organisms such as Bacillus anthracis (anthrax), Francisella tularensis (tularemia), smallpox and ebola viruses, and others in bioterrorist attacks is now a real threat in many countries including the United States.

PART 1
Since I hold to the prophetic interpretation all the publications prior to 1760 put forth concerning the “he” in Daniel 9:27, I am concerned that a lot of believers are going to be in shock when tribulation suddenly begins to occur without a prolonged period of an antichrist arising in Europe, without a written peace treaty that lasts three and one half years, and without a lot of other prophetic interpretations by TV prophetic experts which give the impression we have a long time before fearful things begin to happen. I am concerned about this to the extent that I am going to repeat what I believe about Daniel’s Prophecy of the 70 Weeks of Years. I hope you will consider it, even if you don’t believe it. If it is correct, then it would be beneficial to you when it happened. What follows is Part I of a series that will be coming out in Blogs on the Web Site during the next week.
THE 70 WEEKS OF DANIEL’S 9:24-27 PROPHECY! Part 1
God revealed to Daniel that Jeremiah’s prophecy of seventy years of captivity, which would accomplish the desolation of Jerusalem, had a secondary interpretation involving a much longer period of time.
Daniel 9:1,2 – In the first year of Darius the son of Ahasuerus, of the seed of the Medes, which was made king over the realm of the Chaldeans; [2] In the first year of his reign I Daniel understood by books the number of the years, whereof the word of the Lord came to Jeremiah the prophet, that he would accomplish seventy years in the desolations of Jerusalem.
Then, from 9:24 through 9:27, Daniel unveils the events of a lengthy time period that would affect Israel and the holy city of Jerusalem for 490 years (7 X 70 years). He understands each year of Jeremiah’s prophecy to be equal to seven years, and identifies each period of seven years as one week.
Daniel 9:24 – Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy.
The contextual subject of this entire discourse involves the activity of “the Messiah the Prince,” Jesus Christ, up to the time of his cutting off in the midst of the last week, and the events which will again involve him as the last part of that week is set in motion when Daniel’s clock begins to tick again. The Holy City will again be overrun from the north by the troops of the antichrist, as it was by Titus in AD 70. I have never found any pre-1760 commentary on the Bible that identified the “he” of Daniel 9:27 as the antichrist. They were unanimous in identifying the “he” as Jesus Christ or Antiochus Epiphanes, and I am convinced that Jesus Christ is the correct interpretation.
During the prophetic period of 490 years, Daniel predicted the following events would be carried out by “the Messiah the Prince” of 9:25.
(1) Messiah finishes believer’s condemning transgression against God.
(2) Messiah ends believer’s condemning sins against God.
(3) Messiah completes believer’s reconciliation to God for iniquity.
(4) Messiah brings in everlasting righteousness.
(5) Daniel’s vision of 9:22-24, and its prophecies, would be completed as the 490 years ended at Messiah’s Second Advent.
(6) The Messiah’s anointing would end the period of 490 years.
Four of these events have already been fulfilled by Messiah the Prince, Jesus Christ, and the last two will be completed at his Second Advent. These events, and Scriptures associated with their fulfillment follow:
(1) Messiah finishes believer’s condemning transgression against God.
John 19:30 + Isaiah 53:12 – When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost. [12] Therefore will I divide him a portion with the great, and he shall divide the spoil with the strong; because he hath poured out his soul unto death: and he was numbered with the transgressors; and he bare the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors.
(2) Messiah ends believer’s condemning sins against God.
I Peter 2:24 + Isaiah 53:10 – Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed. [10] Yet it pleased the Lord to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of the Lord shall prosper in his hand.
(3) Messiah completes believer’s reconciliation to God for iniquity.
II Corinthians 5:19 + Isaiah 53:11 – To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation. [11] He shall see of the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied: by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; for he shall bear their iniquities.
(4) Messiah brings in everlasting righteousness for believers.
Romans 4:3-8 + Isaiah 55:3-5 – For what saith the scripture? Abraham believed God, and it was counted unto him for righteousness. [4] Now to him that worketh is the reward not reckoned of grace, but of debt. [5] But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness. [6] Even as David also describeth the blessedness of the man, unto whom God imputeth righteousness without works, [7] Saying, Blessed are they whose iniquities are forgiven, and whose sins are covered. [8] Blessed is the man to whom the Lord will not impute sin. [3] Incline your ear, and come unto me: hear, and your soul shall live; and I will make an everlasting covenant with you, even the sure mercies of David. [4] Behold, I have given him for a witness to the people, a leader and commander to the people. [5] Behold, thou shalt call a nation that thou knowest not, and nations that knew not thee shall run unto thee because of the Lord thy God, and for the Holy One of Israel; for he hath glorified thee.
(5) Daniel’s vision of 9:22-24 will be completed as the 490 years end at Messiah’s Second Advent.
Daniel 12:1-4,8-10 + Revelation 11:15,18 & 16:16,17 – And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time: and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book. [2] And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt. [3] And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever. [4] But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased. [8] And I heard, but I understood not: then said I, O my Lord, what shall be the end of these things? [9] And he said, Go thy way, Daniel: for the words are closed up and sealed till the time of the end. [10] Many shall be purified, and made white, and tried; but the wicked shall do wickedly: and none of the wicked shall understand; but the wise shall understand. [15] And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever. [18] And the nations were angry, and thy wrath is come, and the time of the dead, that they should be judged, and that thou shouldest give reward unto thy servants the prophets, and to the saints, and them that fear thy name, small and great; and shouldest destroy them which destroy the earth. [16] And he gathered them together into a place called in the Hebrew tongue Armageddon. (6) The anointing of the Messiah, the most Holy One, ends the period of 490 years.
Ezekiel 39:7,9 – So will I make my holy name known in the midst of my people Israel; and I will not let them pollute my holy name any more: and the heathen shall know that I am the Lord, the Holy One in Israel. [8] Behold, it is come, and it is done, saith the Lord God; this is the day whereof I have spoken. [28] Then shall they know that I am the Lord their God, which caused them to be led into captivity among the heathen: but I have gathered them unto their own land, and have left none of them any more there. [29] Neither will I hide my face any more from them: for I have poured out my spirit upon the house of Israel, saith the Lord God.
(7) And this is the anointing of the Holy of Holies by the most Holy Anointed One, Jesus Christ, as he enters the Millennial Temple.
Ezekiel 43:1-7 – Afterward he brought me to the gate, even the gate that looketh toward the east: [2] And, behold, the glory of the God of Israel came from the way of the east: and his voice was like a noise of many waters: and the earth shined with his glory. [3] And it was according to the appearance of the vision which I saw, even according to the vision that I saw when I came to destroy the city: and the visions were like the vision that I saw by the river Chebar; and I fell upon my face. [4] And the glory of the Lord came into the house by the way of the gate whose prospect is toward the east. [5] So the spirit took me up, and brought me into the inner court; and, behold, the glory of the Lord filled the house. [6] And I heard him speaking unto me out of the house; and the man stood by me. [7] And he said unto me, Son of man, the place of my throne, and the place of the soles of my feet, where I will dwell in the midst of the children of Israel for ever, and my holy name, shall the house of Israel no more defile, neither they, nor their kings, by their whoredom, nor by the carcases of their kings in their high places.

Comets Likely Smell Awful

These “cosmic snowballs of frozen gases, rock, and dust roughly the size of a small town” (as described by NASA) literally stink to high heaven, according to scientists at Switzerland’s University of Bern. One comet does, anyway: Researchers analyzed the “perfume” of comet 67P/Churyumov-Gerasimenko and said that its BO is apparently a combo of “rotten eggs, horse urine, formaldehyde, bitter almonds, alcohol, vinegar, and a hint of sweet ether,” the AP reports. “If you could smell the comet, you would probably wish that you hadn’t,” reads a blog post on the European Space Agency site.The scientists were able to surmise what the comet would smell like by examining the gas emitted by the “coma,” the comet’s head, Phys.org reports. Luckily, instead of a squeamish human, a mass spectrometer aboard the space probe Rosetta was assigned the task of parsing out the perfumed molecules of 67P, including ammonia, methane, hydrogen sulfide, hydrogen cyanide, and “the pungent, suffocating (odor) of formaldehyde,” notes the ESA post. The probe caught up to the comet in August after chasing it nearly 4 billion miles; it will be sending its Philae robot lander onto the comet proper on Nov. 12, NASA reports. Tectonic Chaos – Chapter 12 – A Poisonous Visitor

In Revelation 8:7-9, John has viewed the land and sea events described previously in Chapters 2, 4, 5, and 6. Now his view is shifted upward where he observes a great star falling from heaven. The word used for star is “aster.” It can mean any one of three different things. It can be a navigational star in the heavens such as Polaris, the North Star – or a “shooting” star, better known as a meteor – or a comet. Sometimes meteors and comets are lumped together as “asteroids” by various types of commentators, but there is a considerable difference between a meteor and a comet. Since all the fixed stars in our universe (except for the sun) are millions to billions of light years from our planet and, as such, eliminate themselves from consideration as candidates for John’s Wormwood, this leaves us with only two candidates – a meteor or a comet. In order to select between these two it is necessary to carefully examine John’s description of the characteristics of Wormwood.
Using John’s description, the following statements concerning Wormwood cannot be easily refuted: (1) It burned like a lamp, and the Hebrew lamp had a fuel supply that kept it burning. (2) It fell upon the third part of the earth’s water surface, and yet John did not so much as mention a quiver in the earth’s crust as it struck. He mentions earthquakes time after time throughout the Book of Revelation, but does not mention one occurring as Wormwood strikes the earth. (3) Whatever Wormwood is, it dissolves in water, because the water becomes Wormwood. (4) When it dissolves in man’s water supply it gives the water a bitter taste, and it causes many who drink the water to die.
When a “shooting star” is outside the earth’s atmosphere it is called a meteoroid. When it enters the earth’s atmosphere it is called a meteor. And, if it is large enough to eventually strike the earth’s surface, before burning into ashes, the solid portion that remains is identified as a meteorite. For simplicity I will refer to all three phases as “shooting stars” to avoid confusion.
Shooting stars are made of nickel, iron, and/or stone. Now, let us reason together as to why Wormwood cannot be a shooting star by comparing it with John’s Revelation description.
1) A shooting star does not burn like a Hebrew lamp. It does not have a continuous fuel supply. Being a solid it burns out very quickly in a matter of seconds to minutes.
2) If a shooting star large enough to strike one-third of the earth was to make such a contact, the impact of such a solid object would jar the earth to its very foundations, but John reports no such shaking in his vision.
3) Nickel, iron, and stone do not dissolve in water, but the water is said to become Wormwood.
4) Nickel, iron, and stone do not give water a bitter taste, nor or they poisonous. During the course of man’s recorded history, thousands of shooting stars have fallen into local water sources, and yet there has never been a validated report of poisoning recorded.
One might argue at this point that God could make a shooting star with a continuous fuel supply, which melted instead of burned, dissolved in water, made water taste bitter, and was poisonous to mankind. He doesn’t have to make one, because he made many heavenly bodies long ago that do all of these things – we call them comets. The “aster” of Revelation 8:10 is one of God’s trillions of comets. Why am I so confident that Wormwood is a comet? My reasons are as follows:
1) A comet has a continuous fuel supply. As it approaches the sun its fuel supply begins to be released by sublimation, and it then moves through the heavens like a great, ever burning lamp.
2) If a comet entered the earth’s atmosphere it would not burn to ashes, for a comet is composed largely of ice. It would not burn, but would melt by sublimation, and eventually fall as liquid, and a super thick cloud, upon one-third of man’s water supply. As the ice melted from a solid into a super thick glob of vapor and liquid, the trillions of pieces of nickel, iron, and stone, embedded in the ice, would be released. The super thick cloud of liquid and vapor would decelerate in his descent toward the earth, but the released solids, being heavier, would be subject to greater gravitation pull, and would proceed to the earth in advance of the cloud, burning in the atmosphere as shooting stars. To an observer on the earth it would appear that all the stars of heaven were falling to earth in advance of the cloud that would eventually settle on one-third of man’s water supply. “But in those days after that tribulation, the sun shall be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, [25] And the stars of heaven shall fall, and the powers that are in heaven shall be shaken.” (Mark 13:24,25)
3) As the comet passed through the earth’s atmosphere during its melting process, it would release methyl cyanide, hydrogen cyanide, and a wide range of cyanogenic poisons, all of which are 100 percent water soluble and have a bitter taste.
4) Methyl cyanide, hydrogen cyanide, and cyanogenic gases are extremely toxic, and many would die of the poisoning effects.
Comets originate from a region between our solar system and the nearest stars. There are trillions of comets in this great comet cloud. There appears to be a virtually endless supply of them, for each year new comets are discovered and others go out of existence, victims of the shattering effects of the sun. When earth passes through the old path of a comet, the small solid particles, which melted off the outer veneer of its icy surface, are intercepted, and meteor showers are produced in our atmosphere. These showers occasionally exhibit as many as a thousand shooting stars per minute falling through the earth’s atmosphere.
A comet is one of God’s strangest creations. There is nothing quite like it. A comet nucleus is made of solid ice, but it is actually ice made of gases that solidified in the unbelievable coldness of outer space. As the ice ball nucleus approaches the sun, its outer surface begins to pass directly from solid ice to a gas by sublimation, and we earthlings begin to observe its long, gaseous, lamp like tail. A Hebrew lamp, because they did not refine the olive oil, put out a gray trail of smoke when it burned. Figure 18 illustrates how the comet’s tail always points away from the sun because of the sun’s solar winds.
The black specks on the surface of the comet in figure 17 are small pieces of nickel, iron, and stone that become embedded in the outer layer of ice by contact as the comet makes its long elliptical orbit around the sun and our solar system. These pieces of nickel, iron, and stone are released into its tail along the comet’s path when the sun’s rays begin to melt the comet, as illustrated in figure 18. Sometimes the gaseous tail of a comet has been observed to extend out to 150 million miles from its nucleus, and over this great distance a trail of small, solid pieces of space debris is laid down in space. Every year, particularly during the late fall and early winter, the earth passes through several comet tails of the past, and dramatic shooting star displays are visible in our atmosphere.
The solid chunk of ice nucleus varies in size, some being less than 20 miles across, while other icy centers are several thousand miles in diameter. When the nucleus comes within the warming rays of the sun it begins to melt, and this produces the coma and tail shown in figure 19. The icy nucleus is composed of hydrogen, helium, carbon, nitrogen, and oxygen gases in a solid icy state. As the ultraviolet rays of the sun strike this combination of elemental gases, several compounds are produced. Among these gases are methyl cyanide, hydrogen cyanide, and a whole range of cyanogenic poisons. When Russian, Italian, and Japanese satellites went in, around, and over the coma and nucleus of Halley’s Comet in 1986, scientists were shocked by the very heavy concentrations of cyanogenic gases that were discovered. The same heavy concentrations have also been observed in all probes of comets since 1986.
I do not know which of the trillions of comets God will select to be Wormwood, but I am certain that Wormwood is a comet. When Wormwood enters the earth’s atmosphere it will not burn, it will melt. And, as it goes directly from a solid to a gas, it will release into the earth’s atmospheric the aforementioned deadly gases of figure 19. Figure 20 pictures another creation of God described in Ecclesiastes 1:7 – “All the rivers run into the sea; yet the sea is not full; unto the place from whence the rivers come, thither they return again.”
This creation of God, known as the Hydrological Cycle, is the cycle into which the 100 percent water soluble, poisonous gases of figure 21 will be released. God has so designed the earth’s atmosphere that the sun’s rays cause exposed water surfaces to be turned into a rising gas called water vapor. As the water vapor is set free from its liquid state by evaporation, it rises and cools at the rate of 1 degree centigrade for every 100 meters it is lifted. Continued lifting produces a visible gas structure by condensation, which we call a cloud. Further lifting causes the water vapor to condense on microscopic floating particles in the air and, if they grow heavy enough, they fall to the earth as precipitation. God’s comet gases will readily mix with God’s water vapor in God’s hydrological system to fall as God’s deadly precipitation on one-third of the water supply God made for man. The things of God’s creation will be used to destroy most of what represents God’s most complex creation – mankind. Once again, I make my continuously repetitious point: God will destroy most of mankind with His creation, not with the creations of mankind.

A Prophecy of God given to Daniel, which caused him to faint and to be sick for certain Days, was a Prophecy that no one understood.
Daniel 8:26,27 – And the vision of the evening and the morning which was told is true: wherefore shut thou up the vision; for it shall be for many days. [27] And I Daniel fainted, and was sick certain days; afterward I rose up, and did the king’s business; and I was astonished at the vision, but none understood it.
A Prophecy of God was given to John in a Little Book to eat. It was sweet in his mouth, but made his stomach bitter. Its message was not to be revealed until the last days, long after John wrote it, as Revelation 10:11 indicates:
Revelation 10:1-4 – And I saw another mighty angel come down from heaven, clothed with a cloud: and a rainbow was upon his head, and his face was as it were the sun, and his feet as pillars of fire: [2] And he had in his hand a little book open: and he set his right foot upon the sea, and his left foot on the earth, [3] And cried with a loud voice, as when a lion roareth: and when he had cried, seven thunders uttered their voices. [4] And when the seven thunders had uttered their voices, I was about to write: and I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Seal up those things which the seven thunders uttered, and write them not.
God’s Message to John that he did not write was to be used to tell the last generation what tasted sweet, but made his stomach bitter.
Revelation 10:9-11 – And I went unto the angel, and said unto him, Give me the little book. And he said unto me, Take it, and eat it up; and it shall make thy belly bitter, but it shall be in thy mouth sweet as honey. King of the North Shall Attack the King of the South
Antichrist King of the North will eventually arise out of fighting now occurring in Greater Syria after Obama leaves office. The King of the South will be the Prime Minister of Israel at that time. The Antichrist will be successful in driving Israel into the Negev, but will stop at Beersheba with a UN & US hudna (truce), and then veer west to Egypt, where he will establish his Capital and begin to establish his great Islamic Caliphate, even larger than the Umayyad Caliphate.
Daniel 11:40 – And at THE TIME OF THE END shall the king of the south push at him: and the king of the north shall come against him like a whirlwind, with chariots, and with horsemen, and with many ships; and he shall enter into the countries, and shall overflow and pass over.
The king of the south represents the initial northern extension of the land division allotted to the Grecian General Ptolemy, which extended from Egypt all the way to what is the present border of Israel with Lebanon and Syria. General Ptolemy was the first king of the south, and the residents of what is now Israel were his subjects. Countless numbers of territorial wars have raged between the kings of the north and the kings of the south. Consequently, the land we know as Israel has been the battlefield between the two, and the kings of the north conquered Jerusalem many times from the time of General Ptolemy to the End of the reign of Syrian King of the North Antiochus Epiphanes and the Maccabean Kings of the South in Israel.
King of the north Antiochus Epiphanes’ IV penetrated south into the Kingdom of the south Ptolemy on four occasions between Daniel 11:21 and 35, but his reign was finished many years ago in the brief age of the Maccabeans. Antiochus Epiphanes was a prototype or type of Antichrist, but the final true Antichrist will soon arise.
The final king of the north is Antichrist. He will eventually rise in Greater Syria to lead a planned massive counter attack against Israel, the final king of the south.
The final Syrian king of the north will cunningly lay the trap into which he will lure the final Israeli king of the south to once again push north into Lebanon, as Israel has done several times in the past. However, this time he will lead Daniel’s 10 horns in a massive counterattack to trap, surround, and smash the IDF, then quickly turn south to drive into the shocked glorious land of Israel, which will only stop at Beersheba, where a UN truce will be accepted between Islam and Israel. He will then put Egypt in his crosshairs after bypassing the 600 BC nations of Ammon, Moab, and Edom, which today make up Jordan. Jordan will be overthrown internally by the Palestinians that now make up 80 percent of today’s population under Muslim Brotherhood Influence.
Daniel 11:41 – He shall enter also into the glorious land, and many countries shall be overthrown: but these shall escape out of his hand, even Edom, and Moab, and the chief of the children of Ammon.

One of the main reasons I wrote three books on prophecy in the late seventies and early eighties was to establish a case advocated by teachers of the pre-World War II era. It was, simply stated, that man would not destroy the earth with his weaponry, but rather that God would destroy the earth by the use of this own power. I am certain that the horrifying changes in the topography of Israel, as well as the terrifying destruction of the antichrist’s forces at Armageddon, are by the awesome power of God, not atomic, chemical, or biological weapons of man. The lifting of the land from Geba to Rimmon south of Jerusalem, the breaking up of Jerusalem into three sections, the splitting of the Mount of Olives, and the consuming of the flesh, tongues, and eyes of the antichrist’s men are natural phenomena unleashed by God, not by man. All the Scriptures dealing with these phenomena unleashed by God are covered in the Birth Pang Archives.
There are many advocates of a great atomic, chemical, and biological war in Israel when the antichrist attacks 1260 days before Armageddon. It might happen at the time of Armageddon, but the initial attack will start what amounts to a non-nuclear, non-chemical, and non-biological war. So why am I so confident and outspoken about this being the case?
1) Israel has more than 200 extremely well concealed missile sites in the Negev between Beersheba and the Gulf of Aqabah.
2) It has more than 300 nuclear, chemical, and biological warheads to mount on Jericho missiles.
3) The Jericho is a very accurate missile, and can hit a target in any Islamic country from Morocco to Pakistan and from Turkey to Yemen.
4) Israel has an excellent anti-missile defense to protect its array of silos, warheads, and missiles. It is able to pick up an incoming enemy missile launched from Syria before it reaches it maximum altitude.
So why do I believe this array of WMD will not be unleashed by Israel when it is attacked? Because the Israeli War Contingency Plan of Israel directs that WMD will never be launched against a foreign nation unless they are first launched against Israel.
So how do I know the Islamic countries will not launch WMD in their initial attack? All of them are well aware of what is listed in (1) through (4)! The Soviet Union, which it existed, shared Israeli intelligence information with Syria, which it collected over a long period of time from its hundreds of spy satellites it launched from pads between Moscow and the White Sea, and on the eastern side of the Aral Sea. Syria, in turn, has shared it with most of the other Islamic countries around Israel. Only a leader possessed of rank insanity would ever launch WMD first against Israel, which is why I was so relieved when Saddam Hussein was taken out of the way.
Many believe the United States will quickly rush to the aid of Israel, and, as the world’s greatest power, will immediately deliver her from any kind of attack she can’t handle. There are two problems with this idea:
The United States believes Israel can defeat any Islamic attack on its own without any help from us. After all, Israel has easily done so in three previous wars.
This will be a lightning Jihad, and better coordinated than any of the previous wars, and this time Israel will have a Palestinian state attacking it from within, while the other Islamic nations come in from outside its borders. It will probably last less than a couple of weeks, and Jerusalem is likely to fall within four days. By the time we decide they must have our help it will be too late because they will have occupied most of the land from Dan to Beersheba.
By this time it would take months, as it did in Operation Desert Storm and Operation Freedom Iraq, to get sufficient American troops on the ground to do any good.

Isaiah 66:22 – For as the new heavens and the new earth, which I will make, shall remain before me, saith the Lord, so shall your seed and your name remain.
ISAIAH 66:1 – Thus saith the Lord, The heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool: where is the house that ye build unto me? And where is the place of my rest?
The Lord addresses Israel, and pre-addresses his query by reminding Israel of the size of a building it would take to contain his person and kingdom. The point is that they cannot build such a building. But it is also a stark reminder God does not need a building in which to dwell. Where could you put such a building?
When Isaiah wrote this, Solomon’s temple was in full blossom in Jerusalem, so Israel had a beautiful temple for a place to worship. God reminds them in 66:1,2 that He is much greater than his temple, and that they are not worshipping the building, but the One whose Spirit indwells it.
ISAIAH 66:2 – For all those things hath mine hand made, and all those things have been, saith the Lord: but to this man will I look, even to him that is poor and of a contrite spirit, and trembleth at my word.
Romans 2:28,29 – For he is not a Jew, which is one outwardly; neither is that circumcision, which is outward in the flesh: [29] But he is a Jew, which is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit, and not in the letter; whose praise is not of men, but of God.
This is the type of man God has always sought to worship him in spirit and in truth.
There was only one man, absolutely perfect in having these characteristics from birth to death in sinless flesh, and that man was Jesus Christ, God himself in perfect flesh. He alone was qualified to present himself, his body and his blood, as the total one-time offering for the sins of all who would accept him as their offering.
Solomon’s temple, which “had been” built by human hands made by the hand of God, was indeed a thing of beauty, but its ordinances and sacrifices all pointed as figures, types, or symbols of an anointed man, whom God looked to as a man worthy of being indwelled by God in all his fullness, the God-man, Christ Jesus.
Luke 2:52 – And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and man.
Philippians 2:5-12 – Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: [6] Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: [7] But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: [8] And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. [9] Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: [10] That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; [11] And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
II Corinthians 5:19 – To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.
Ephesians 2:22 – In whom ye also are builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit.
Israelis were placing their faith in the stone temple and animal sacrifices rather than the mercy and grace of God’s Spirit indwelling it, and not in his promised Seed of Genesis 3:15 who was some 700 years in the future when Isaiah wrote his Book.
ISAIAH 66:2,3 – For all those things hath mine hand made, and all those things have been, saith the Lord: but to this man will I look, even to him that is poor and of a contrite spirit, and trembleth at my word. [3] He that killeth an ox is as if he slew a man; he that sacrificeth a lamb, as if he cut off a dog’s neck; he that offereth an oblation, as if he offered swine’s blood; he that burneth incense, as if he blessed an idol. Yea, they have chosen their own ways, and their soul delighteth in their abominations.
Psalm 51:15-17 – O Lord, open thou my lips; and my mouth shall shew forth thy praise. [16] For thou desirest not sacrifice; else would I give it: thou delightest not in burnt offering [17] The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise.
The temple ordinances and sacrifices meant nothing, and were not accepted, unless they came from a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart.
Jesus spoke John 5:39-41 to those Jews who rejected him as the Messiah. (John 5:18)
John 5:39-41 – Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me. [40] And ye will not come to me, that ye might have life. [41] I receive not honour from men.
God’s own people rejected him in the days of the prophets who warned them of the Assyrian and Babylonian captivities that were coming on them for their evil conduct. God chose their delusions and brought their fears upon them as a consequence of their actions. Jesus, as the Prophet described by Moses, also told the generation of his day of the consequences of their actions in rejecting him.
Matthew 23:27-39–Woe unto you scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye are like unto whited sepulchres which indeed appear beautiful outward, but are within full of dead men’s bones, and of all uncleanness. [28] Even so ye also outwardly appear righteous unto men but within ye are full of hypocrisy and iniquity. [29] Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! because ye build the tombs of the prophets, and garnish the sepulchres of the righteous, [30] And say, If we had been in the days of our fathers, we would not have been partakers with them in the blood of the prophets. [31] Wherefore ye be witnesses unto yourselves, that ye are the children of them which killed the prophets. [32] Fill ye up then the measure of your fathers. [33] Ye serpents, ye generation of vipers, how can ye escape the damnation of hell? [34] Wherefore, behold, I send unto you prophets and wise men, and scribes: and some of them ye shall kill and crucify; and some of them shall ye scourge in your synagogues, and persecute them from city to city: [35] That upon you may come all the righteous blood shed upon the earth, from the blood of righteous Abel unto the blood of Zacharias son of Barachias, whom ye slew between the temple and the altar. [36] Verily I say unto you, All these things shall come upon this generation. [37] O Jerusalem, Jerusalem thou that killest the prophets, and stonest them which are sent unto thee, how often would I have gathered thy children together, even as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings, and ye would not! [38] Behold, your house is left unto you desolate.[39] For I say unto you, Ye shall not see me henceforth, till ye shall say, Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord.
